MARLBOROUGH PINOT NOIR

Our Pinot Noir grapes are from a single vineyard in the Awatere Valley from a mixture of cane and spur pruned vines. The wine is vibrant and fresh.  The use of oak barrels to age the wine has given this wine a lovely subtle texture to complement the soft tannins.  Our 2014 Pinot Noir was bottled without fining to add extra interest and more complexity.

VINEYARD

The fruit was sourced from a single estate vineyard in the Awatere Valley.  Small bunches of perfect ripeness were harvested and crushed into small vats and left to cold soak on their skins for a few days.

WINEMAKING

Cultured yeast was inoculated into the skins and fermented over 5 days.  Regular plunging of the cap ensured that the perfect balance of colour and phenolics were extracted from the skins.  Once dry, the wine was pressed into aged barrels and left there to mature over 9 months.
